I MET HENRY CAVILL!!! So thanks to ONTD on LJ (and verstand), I found out that Henry Cavill, one of the loves of my life, was doing promotional signing for the fragrance for Dunhill (of which he is the new spokesman) today at Selfridges. The whole thing started at 12:30, but I assumed there would be a ginormous line so I got there at 11. I went in, and they were still setting everything up. So I looked around the store for an hour, bought Sabina's birthday present, and then went back around 12. They had finished setting up, and a bunch of people were discussing the layout. I asked one of the ladies if there was a line, and she's like "actually, there's only one other person waiting at the moment, so I guess your second." She takes me to the line, and the other person is a dude in his mid-30's. So I smiled politely, squeed inwardly because I was fucking 2nd in line, and waited. I started talking to the dude in front of me. He seemed nice, so I assumed he was one of those people who get celebrities autographs and then sell them online as a profession. It turns out, this dude wasn't. It turns out he just loves Henry, and had written a poem for him too. It took every fiber in my being to keep from laughing at that. I also made friends with all the people working around there. I was talking to the girls who were giving cologne samples to people about Henry, and when people would come up and ask about him, they'd be like "Ask that girl, she's a huge fan" haha so I felt like the human version of IMDB, listing off a bunch of stuff he's been in. He finally showed up at 12:30, and after 15 minutes of the press taking pictures, we were finally allowed to go up to him one by one.

When it was my turn, I went up to him with this cheesy grin on my face. He said "Hi, how are you?" and I said "I'm fine thanks. My name's Sheema", and he was like "Hi Sheema, how do you spell that?" I spelled it out for him, and as he was signing the picture, I told him I was a huge fan, and how amazing he was in the Tudors and Tristan and Isolde. I even asked him what it was like working with JRM, and he was like "Fantastic,he's wonderful, very talented." I then asked him if I could take a picture with him, and give him a hug (I know, I have no shame, but you know what? This was a once in a lifetime oppotunity. I will probably never hug a man that gorgeous again in my life.) When we were taking the picture, the press also took pictures of us, and I was like "I don't know where to look!" And he was like "I'm always so confused." Then I took my picture, took my camera, and ran out of the door, sort of screaming into the phone because I called my mom (who has no idea who he is), as well as inmyplace. I just have to say that he is even more gorgeous in person, if that is possible. He has dethroned David Beckham as the world's most gorgeous man. He seems so unaware of it, and of his fame, he kind of has this look on his face of "why me?" It's funny because while I was thinking it, someone said it.
